Addressing my adult acne, step one drink more tea…

Ok so it’s not as bad as it sounds, but it is as embarrassing as it sounds. Particularly when the majority of people who know you look at you and wonder what is happening with her skin, it’s usually so clear!? For me it’s turned into a bit of a nervous habit, whenever I’m worried, stressed or unhappy I tend to touch my skin, sometimes rubbing at the latest addition to my face or dare I say it (because it’s gross) pulling away a bit of crust that’s built up… I can’t believe I said that.

Before... it doesn't look so bad but trust me, it got worse. I have been getting the types of blemishes that look like I have a rash across my whole face. And most of them are able to be squeezed... white heads I'll call them.

Anyhoo, never fear, if you read my last blog post on the long list of recommendations I’ve been told to try you would see that I had started and have had some positive effects. So without further ado…

Step one: Your Tea Skin Magic Tea.

I’m always really sceptical of tea cleanses that claim to make you lose weight, and I’m also not the biggest tea drinker as I’m much more of a fan of room temperature or cool drinks but I thought I would give this a try as part of my skin clearing experiments and because it’s super easy to get online, something I can drink every day at work, at home or on the run I started there. For anyone who works in an office, definitely try this, it’s a sure fire way to warm up your air-conditioned-icey-hands…

Not a bad morning routine if I say so myself...

Not a bad morning routine if I say so myself...

The instructions ask you to drink two tea bags per day for 30 days and see the difference in your skin, I started out really well on this venture and was drinking 2 teas a day, morning and evening and saw some immediate results. My skin was clearer, I definitely looked and felt less bloated and my confidence got the boost that it needed.

The other thing that I will say is that unlike other detox tea blends, this one ACTUALLY tastes good. Like I said before I’m not a huge fan of tea, peppermint tea is the extent of what I usually drink but this one had a beautiful smooth flavour, almost like it was vanilla(I don’t think that’s what it is but you never know) and my partner even got hooked and started making me extra large cups of it so that he could share too!

I definitely believe that it helped my skin, the only downside was that I struggled to stick with the 2 a day (one was always easy), so I probably didn’t get the full results that I could have and have just had a little break out pre-period style, although not as bad as I have had in the past few months. I also discovered that it had black tea as part of the ingredients, which meant that my evening ritual couldn’t proceed, as I’m not a huge fan of having any sort of caffeine after midday unless I need a boost of energy.

After... still a few pimples that have blown up on my chin but nothing major.. YAY!

All in all however, a successful trial of my first Skin Magic Tea cleanse, in fact it was my first ever tea cleanse. It was easy to implement in daily life with a busy work and yoga schedule, I saw the results instantly and even though I didn’t stick strictly to the 2 a day it certainly curbed any flare ups that might have happened and I didn’t even have to change my daily routine or foods I ate.  It also came in handy as part of building my daily ritual and I worked on making sure I woke up, did some dry body brushing, had a shower and sat and sipped on my tea. Around 30 minutes of time taken was all I needed to incorporate this into my life.

I should also point out to those of you who told me to follow Dr Nat Kringoudis for more tips on how to balance my hormones post-contraceptive-pill, that she endorses the Your Tea products so it made it that much easier for me to convince myself that I had to try this teatox.

If you’re intrigued to read more about what Your Tea says their Skin Magic Tea does click HERE – you will most likely notice that it’s sold out, which is a testament to how popular the tea is, my name is already on the waitlist for my next box.

Because I don’t mind a good plug when I actually like a brand or product you can find the links to their social media and website below! Happy Sipping Everyone!
