The Travelling Yogi - Part 2

Who would have thought 2 years ago, when I first took my yoga practice to a SUP Board that I would have been offered the opportunity to go to the Maldives to teach and set up the SUP Yoga activities for the resort.

Not only that, but who would have thought I would have found my niche, my love and my passion teaching beach yoga and SUP Yoga on stunning tropical beaches like Noosa Heads, the Maldives, Croatia and more… I know I certainly didn’t.

In fact, when I graduated high school I had absolutely no idea what I loved and what it was I was going to do with my life, so I chose a business degree that was well rounded and was the only thing I could think of that I was good at.

Fast forward 5 years and I’ve found my purpose in life, I’ve found that one thing that I will always be passionate about practicing and sharing with the world even if it doesn’t make me millions. I figure at the end of the day, I’m already rich when I’m happy.

The key to all of this I’ve only found only recently.

Let go.

Let go of your fear of whether you will make it work or not, you will. Let go of your self-conscious issues that you may be holding about yourself, you are amazing. Let go of the voice that asks you whether anyone else will want to buy or see or be part of what you are doing, they will. Let go of the worry that your family and friends won’t understand or you will lose them if you change paths, you won’t and the ones you do, maybe it’s meant to be? Let go of the unconscious bias that you have built up and your apprehension because of what you’ve always been told is the right thing to do.

Most importantly, remember that you are your own person, you have your own nuances, your own needs, dreams, wants and more. You are the only person in this world who can possibly know what its like to be you and the true intricacies of your passions.

When you let go of anything and everything that is holding you back, and accept your imperfections, who you are and what you are passionate about you WILL flourish in this world.

For me, working full time whilst building my yoga business was a must, and I am ok with that. But as soon as I started to truly take my yoga seriously my passion and creativity flowed and was seen by the world and I was soon teaching numerous classes weekly, being asked to run private events and workshops, my retreats that I was so passionate about sharing were sold out and I was offered the opportunity to fly to the Maldives to teach SUP Yoga for 2 weeks at the Four Seasons Resort. I also had the chance to start sharing my passion for yoga at my full time job and start to intertwine the practice that I hold so dearly in my heart with my ‘day job’.

Now if you’re thinking there is no way you could do that. You’re most likely right. Because thinking that you can’t is the first step to holding yourself back. It is your personal belief that draws in those around you, if you believe you can everyone will trust that you can. Let go of your self doubt, or if it’s there for a reason listen to your intuition and change paths whatever that may mean.

I challenge you to take the time to consider what you ARE passionate about and how you can weave that into every single part of your life, letting go of everything that does not serve you and your purpose.
